Many things are going on with life. At work, career is in jeopardy due to new people and reorg. After a decade of service, once again in the job market for no fault of mine. Therefore this year is subdued, no travel plans other than a trip to India as P wants to meet her mother. Morever, we are going in May! That is the only month that Mohini will have time to travel anywhere.
During her last trip to Halifax, we did go to Barrington Steakhouse. Although nothing spectacular, the prices were justified with the quality of food and service. Impeccable. On Friday last, we did go to Curry Village for P's birthday and were let down. The chicken tikka was bland and we had to ask for some kind of hot sauce. By bland I mean it lacked not only heat but also any kind of spice. The seasoning too was on the lower side. Our main was Chicken Vindaloo. First time in an Indian cuisine place I was not able to eat more than a couple of bites due to extreme heat read spiciness. I used to pride myself as being able to handle heat more than anybody, but this something way beyond my limits. I wonder if anybody in Halifax could actually eat that. Yes the menu does mention it is spicy and hot hot hot but did not imagine that would be to this extent.
