Kharvas in Canada

I just found this delicious recipe to make kharvas without requiring cow's "chik". Get a can of Carnation evaporated milk. Mix it with saffron and ground elaichi and of course sugar as per your taste.
Next, mix a pouch of clear gelatin in water as per the instructions on the package and then add the mixture to the evaporated milk. Leave it in fridge to set. I use Knox brand of clear gelatin.

My Dear Brahmin in Canada,

How does it tasted ? Kharwad without cow's Chik.

But I am quite sure it cannot compensate Kharwas from Modern (was at Girgaum, now part of history), B.Tambe Thakurdwar, Aswad, Shivaji Pakr and Janesava Dugdhalaya, Laxmi Road, Pune, andDattatraya Snacks at Palesphe Phata on the way to Alibaug.

You forgot Panshikar, just outside Dadar station. Anyway, it tasted as great as it could be. I have forgotton the taste of Modern. It was many, many years ago. We used to make the trip to Girgaaum all the way from Sion just for the Kharvas and Dalimbyachi usal there.

HKJ I'm going to check out Palesphe Phata on the way to Alibaug for sure this time. In another week's time I will be there!!

Abhi that's a nice alternate way of making it without the absolute necessary ingredient!
